World Mental Health Day was created by the World Federation on 1922 October 10 under the instructions of Richard Hunter. Richard Hunter was the secretary-general of the World Federation during that time.

The motive of introducing World Mental Health Day was to make people overcome the hazardous habits that are making tough situations even worse for them.

The world struggled to accept the problems and importance of mental health.

This became a global crisis so the World Federation of Mental Health had to step in.

The first theme of World Mental Health Day was introduced in 1994 and the theme was ‘Improving The Quality Of Mental Health Services Throughout The World’ National campaigns were held in England and Australia.

As the day passed the popularity of World Mental Health kept increasing and started getting accepted by many organizations and civilians as well.

The themes of World Mental Health Day kept expanding and started including health, trauma, work, suicide, and a lot more. The civilians started becoming more aware of mental health.
